Shell casings lie on the ground as Iraqi government forces gather around the Qayyarah airbase, which was seized by Iraqi forces last week from jihadists of the Islamic State (IS)group, on July 13, 2016, some 60 kilometres (35 miles) south of Mosul.

تمكنت القوات العراقية المشتركة، الثلاثاء، من دخول مركز ناحية القيارة (جنوب مدينة الموصل بمحافظة نينوى شمالي البلاد) في إطار عمليتها لاستعادتها من تنظيم داعش.
وأفادت مصادر أمنية عراقية بأن العملية انطلقت من محاور عدة، بمشاركة قوات الجيش العراقي وجهاز مكافحة الإرهاب والحشد العشائري. وأضافت تلك المصادر أن مسلحي داعش، يفرون من قضاء القيارة، باتجاه نينوى.
كما أكدت مصادر عراقية وصول رتل من المدرعات الأميركية إلى القيارة من المحور الشمالي.
