The San Francisco company Twitter announced on September 12, 2013, in a tweet, that it has submitted papers for a stock offering, the most hotly anticipated in the tech sector since Facebook's last year. "We've confidentially submitted an S-1 to the SEC for a planned IPO. This Tweet does not constitute an offer of any securities for sale," the company tweeted. Talk of an initial public offering (IPO) has circulated about Twitter for some time, and the Wall Street Journal estimated the company founded in 2006 is worth some $10 billion. ارتفعت العائدات الإجمالية لشركة تويتر، في الربع الثاني من العام الجاري، بنحو 20 في المئة، حيث بلغت 602 مليون دولار.
ويأتي هذا الارتفاع بعدما سجلت تويتر زيادة كبيرة في عائداتها من إعلانات الهواتف المحمولة، حيث نمت بنحو 89 في المئة.
و قلصت الشركة خسائرها الصافية إلى 107 مليون دولار، بالمقارنة مع العام السابق التي قدرت بـ136 مليون دولار.
موقع التواصل الاجتماعي شهد أيضا ارتفاع عدد المستخدمين النشطين شهريا بنسبة 3 في المئة، مقارنة بنفس الربع من العام الماضي، ليصل إلى 313 مليون مستخدم.
وتتوقع تويتر أن تتراوح عائداتها الإجمالية في الربع الثالث ما بين 590 و610 مليون دولار، وهي أقل بكثير من توقعات المحللين التي تقدر بـ678 مليون دولار.
